The Background

Soil Types: silted powdered clay

The floor under the welding workshop equipment experienced uneven settlement, and some areas of the floor became hollow. The steel structure welding workshop has a pile cap foundation, with equipment directly placed on the floor.

The Problem

The foundation of the welding workshop mainly consists of silted powdered clay, a weak foundation with high water content, poor stability, and low bearing capacity. The heavy weight of the equipment placed on the floor, around 5 t/m², exceeds the bearing capacity of the foundation, causing significant additional deformation and resulting in floor hollowing and uneven settlement.

The Solution

First, reinforce the shallow foundation by filling and permeating the soil with grout, consolidating it to form a raft-shaped composite foundation. Then, continue constructing irregular composite pile foundations, complementing each other to build a new foundation bearing system, significantly enhancing the foundation's bearing capacity.

Load on the Floor: about 5 t/m²

The Result

During our company's construction, the welding workshop did not need to cease operations, avoiding significant economic losses for the client. The project duration was only half of that of traditional solutions, greatly saving time and cost.

Construction Period: 20 days
