The Background
Soil Types: Backfill soil, silt, moderately weathered rock.
The workshop has an independent pile foundation.
The Problem
The foundation mainly consists of man-made fill and silt with poor uniformity and severe differential settlement under pressure. The weak underlying layer lacks strength. The independent foundation piles do not penetrate deep enough into the rock, and the soil around the piles is loose with a low friction coefficient, etc.
The Solution
Carry out compaction grouting beneath the cap to consolidate the weak soil layer. The slurry, by filling and compacting, increases the density and strength of the weak soil layer and enhances the grip of the soil around the piles. Continue drilling down to the pile end bearing stratum and reinforce it, improving the bearing capacity of the pile end bearing stratum and achieving the purpose of lifting and leveling and stabilizing the foundation.
The Result
The reinforced composite foundation overall has good stability, strong bearing capacity, and resistance to deformation. The soil layer around the original piles is reinforced and compacted, enhancing the pile side friction resistance and the bearing capacity of the pile end bearing stratum. The reinforced foundation exhibits good durability.
